To create income generating opportunities for women in newly merged districts, SRSP organized a 30 days training of 25 participants on "Mazri Work" in Lower Orakzai, Tehsil of District Orakzai.
The objective of this training was to economically empower women and making them self-reliant through provision of livelihood enhancement initiative that will ensure the well-being of women and their families. These trainings will develop a sense of earning among the women by making mazri products and selling them in the nearby market. In the mean while SRSP worked on creating links with local shopkeepers to sell these products and in return financially benefit women belonging to destitute parts of Orakzai District. These community organizations will also organize women into groups to build their own capital through regular savings and get access to loans in times of need.
The training was conducted under “Aid to Uprooted People (AUP)” project which is funded by the European Union, financed by KFW and implemented by SRSP to support the recently returned families of five newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
