CRICKET TOURNAMENT TO PROMOTE PEACE.

SRSP with the collaboration of PPAF through its Italian Govt. funded program, Programme for Poverty Reduction (PPR) launched an opening ceremony of district level cricket tournament to promote peace, tolerance and harmony within the communities at Bajaur Sports Complex, Bajaur Agency.The distinguished guests at the event were, Assistant Political Agent Nawagai Mr. Tariq Ullah while Lt Col: Muhammad Tahir Kaim Khani (wing commander 146 Chitral scouts), Lt Col: Hamid Mehmood, Mr. Fazal Akbar Agency Sports Manager, Mr. Muhammad Ismail President Bajaur Cricket Association, SRSP team, community organization leadership and youths of Bajaur Agency.During this event sports kits were also distributed among the seventeen cricket clubs. These clubs were nominated prior to the event by community organization through resolutions in CO/VOs meetings.

Shoaib Sultan Khan visit to Local Support Organizations

Mr. Shoaib Sultan Khan, the founder of RSP movement in Pakistan, visited Local Support Organizations (LSOs) in Nowshera and Charsadda Districts and met Community Investment Funds members, Entrepreneurs and Value Chain members. Finance Minister KP & UNDP representative inaugurates Vocational Training

The representatives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government and UNDP stressed the need for adopting innovative ways to address the issues of unemployment and lack of livelihood opportunities in the merged districts. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister of Finance and Planning Taimur Jhagra and resident representative of UNDP Ignacio Artaza were speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate vocational training for 500 youth from the merged districts of Khyber, North and South Waziristan. The train ing is being organized at the Human Resource Centre of the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) in Hayatabad. The six-month training is being funded by the USAID through UNDP in a project being implemented by the SRSP in the three districts. The youth are being imparted training in different trades including solar panel, auto mechanic, motorcycle, refrigeration and air-condition repairing. The trainings are certified by the City and Guild London.

Renovation and Upgradation of Basic Health Unit

SRSP with the financial assistance of PATRIP Foundation has renovated and expanded 6 Basic Health Units (BHUs) at the Pak-Afghan border region in district Kurram. Recently, Solar Energy Systems have been installed in these 6 BHUs, which are facilitating around 5,600 patients every month.
